ALL MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL
Sending Medication to School or for School Related Activities
The SC Nurse Practice Acts require licensed nurses to only administer medication to patients under a prescriber’s authority. Lexington Three has updated its policy and practices to be in compliance with this law. Should your child need any over-the counter medicine or prescription medicine during school or school related activities, a Medication Form must be signed by a licensed healthcare provider. No district employee will be able to accept parental permission alone for administration of over the counter or prescription medication. In cases involving field trips, please contact your child’s school nurse two weeks prior to the trip so that all medication can be signed in with the required Medical Permission Authorization Form completed. This also applies to any special procedures that your child may need. Should you have any questions, please contact Lisa Price RN,MN at 532-1747. Thank you for your assistance.
